I used to go to a roller rink, there was a DJ. So one day, I went up to him and I asked him about his decks and how they work, I asked him "Can you teach me?" And he showed me the basics, and then after that, I had downloaded a program called VirtualDJ on my laptop. I didn't have any decks at the time. But it worked really well since there were like virtual DJ decks, which helped me in my DJ knowledge, soon after, he had gifted me his old DJ decks. I was really grateful to have these. As soon as I got home I plugged them in to my laptop, they were different decks then his, so it got a bit of work to get used to. It didn't take me long to get used to it. Then I had heard of a better software called Serato DJ Lite, which was recommended by him. So, I switched to Serato. And It was so much better, and I had used it for a year before I had got my Prime 4 DJ Decks in April 2025. After months of learning, he said I can do some DJing on the decks at the roller rink, and he told me to prepare some songs for the mix. I spent weeks and months preparing the mix and mastering it, when the day came, I was so excited. When I was on the decks, I was a little nervous but I was really confident after. The first song I played was Salt Water by Chicane. Then, I mixed it into Dominater by Danny Bond and Human Resource. My friends were there cheering me on, I seemlessly mixed it and it was AMAZING for my first mix. I was so excited! The video can be seen on my tiktok (will be linked below) After that, I started DJ Rider. Where I did DJing for people at party's and events. Then in April 2024, I got TIDAL. Which is like spotify but can be linked to my Serato, since spotify isnt supported. That means I can get any song on the internet. Also viewing my playlists. Then in April 2025 I got the DENON DJ Prime 4. My current decks I use now.
